STATE OF MIND

Once a Seth invited Pandit ji, but Pandit ji had a fast on Ekadashi, so Pandit ji could not go, but Pandit ji sent two of his disciples to Seth's place for food.

But when both the disciples returned, one of them was sad and the other was happy.

Surprised to see Pandit ji and asked son why are you sad -- Has Seth made a difference in the food?

"No Master"

Has Seth made a difference in the posture?

"No Master"

Did Seth differentiate between Dachhina?

"No sir, gave equal amount of 2 rupees to me and 2 rupees to others"

Now Guru ji was even more surprised and asked then what is the reason?

who are you sad

Then the sad disciple said Guru ji, I used to think that Seth is a very big man, he will give at least 10 rupees, but he gave 2 rupees, that's why I am sad!!

Now asked the other why are you happy?

So the other said, Guru ji knew that Seth is very stingy, he will not give more than eight annas, but he gave 2 rupees, so I am happy...!

This is just the condition of our mind, events happen equally in the world, but some get happiness from those events, some get sad, but in reality there is neither sorrow nor happiness, it depends on the state of our mind.

That's why Shri Ram Katha says that -- Put your mind at the feet of the Lord, because - If the wish is not fulfilled, then there is sorrow and if the wish is fulfilled, then there is happiness, but if there is no wish then there is joy...
